Kenya Power Schedules Maintenance, Power Outages Expected in Seven Counties- Wednesday
NAIROBI, Kenya – On Wednesday, January 15, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) will conduct maintenance activities, causing planned power outages in select areas across seven counties.
In a statement released on Tuesday, January 14, KPLC announced that the affected regions will experience interruptions lasting between two and nine hours.
Below are the scheduled outage details:
Nairobi County
- Area: Part of Dandora
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Komarock Rd, Councillor Opundo Rd, Dandora Phase 5, Sakina Petrol Station, Gitari Marigu, and nearby customers. - Area: Part of Westlands
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected areas: GTC, Avocado Villas, Pride Inn, J. Arcade, Posta, Woodvale Rd, and adjacent customers.
Bomet County
- Area: Parts of Mulot Feeder
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Kipranye, Famous Gates Hotel, Sagenya, Royal Bakery, Oasis Petrol Station, and nearby customers.
Kiambu County
- Area: Juja Farm and Arthi Spur
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Juja Farm Zone P, Mwireri Shopping Centre, Kwa Murage, Kwa Ruhi, Athi Dispensary, and nearby customers. - Area: Komo Spur and Munyu Feeder
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Komo Shopping Centre, Mulandi Quarry, V-Area Shopping Centre, and adjacent customers.
Nandi County
- Area: Maraba
Time: 8:15 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.

Turkana County
- Area: Katilu and Kalemngorok
Time: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Kalemngorok, Katilu, Kaputir, Kakong, Keekunyuk, and adjacent areas.
Kitui County
- Area: Mulutu, Katulani, and Kavisuni
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Mulutu Market, Ithiani, Itoleka, Katulani, Ngiluni, Maluma, Kavisuni, Kanyangii, and nearby customers.
Kilifi County
- Area: Parts of Kanamai and Kikambala
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Affected areas: Sun n Sand Beach Hotel, Fairdeal Park, Swati Investments, Kikambala Catholic, Miembe Saba, Salwa Kenya, and neighboring locations.
Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to plan accordingly to minimize disruption during the maintenance period.
