Fred Matiang’i Responds to 2027 Presidential Rumors- “I’ve Heard”

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has addressed the rumors about his potential run for president in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Patrick Wainaina Jungle’s Support for Matiang’i

On Monday, January 14, Matiang’i attended a funeral in Kiambu County, where local leaders encouraged him to consider running for president.

During his speech, former Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina Jungle expressed confidence in Matiang’i’s leadership abilities, calling him a strong candidate for the country’s top office.

Criticizing President William Rutoโ€™s Kenya Kwanza government, Wainaina stated that the 2027 election would remove dishonest leaders.

“We have decided that this country will unite and we will reclaim it from those who spread lies. We have a political party, TNP (The National Party), and Matiang’i is welcome to join. We need one presidential candidate for our country,” Wainaina said.

Matiang’i’s Response to Running for President

When Matiang’i spoke, he emphasized the need for unity among Kenyans ahead of the 2027 elections.

In response to Wainainaโ€™s call for him to run, Matiang’i hinted that he would consider the possibility.

“I believe we are all one people. The challenges we face affect all of us equally, no matter where we come from, our tribe, or our faith,” Matiang’i said, acknowledging Wainainaโ€™s request.

    Matiang’i’s Plans for 2027

As previously reported by Gossipa2z.com, Matiang’i is preparing to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential race.

Sources say he has hired the global lobbying firm Dickens & Madson to support his campaign. Matiang’iโ€™s United Progressive Alliance Party (UPA) is working to build national recognition in time for the 2027 elections.

Political analyst Tom Maoso suggests that Matiang’i may team up with his former boss, Uhuru Kenyatta, for a stronger bid.
