‘Bring It On!’ CS Muturi Dares Impeachment Plotters
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has brushed off impeachment threats following his Sunday press conference, where he openly criticized the government’s handling of recent abductions, including his son’s kidnapping.
Speaking at Kilimani Police Station on Tuesday, where he recorded a statement regarding his son Leslie Muturi’s abduction, Muturi dismissed criticism from what he called “inexperienced politicians,” asserting he wouldn’t be intimidated.
“I’m not one to respond to superficial remarks from individuals who lack experience. If they think I acted without purpose, they’re in for a rude awakening. Bring it on,” Muturi declared, maintaining his stance that addressing the abduction crisis is a responsibility to all Kenyans.
When questioned about raising the issue during Cabinet meetings, Muturi clarified that Cabinet discussions require formal memoranda, noting no such agenda had been presented.

His comments follow National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro’s announcement of plans to impeach him, accusing Muturi of undermining the government instead of addressing concerns privately with President William Ruto. Osoro gave Muturi three options: resign, apologize publicly, or face impeachment when Parliament reconvenes.
Muturi recounted the harrowing ordeal his family faced after Leslie’s June 2024 abduction in Nairobi’s Lavington area. Although Leslie was eventually released, Muturi criticized the lack of answers and government transparency, stating, “I still don’t know why my son was abducted, detained, and later released without explanation.”
The CS also called on security agencies to release detailed data on abductions, including the number of victims released and those still missing, urging action to address the escalating insecurity.
