Drama as Activist Booker Shoots At Suspected Abductors after Storming His Home At Night

Booker Ngesa Omole, a well-known activist, claims his life is in danger following an incident at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, where he shot and injured an intruder.

According to Booker, he was asleep on Saturday night when he heard unusual noises in his house. Upon investigating, he discovered eight men had broken into his home, with some of them outside and others holding a female relative hostage.

As a licensed gun owner, Booker quickly grabbed his pistol and fired two shots at the intruders. One of the men was injured, forcing the group to abandon their plan and flee.

Although the exact motive for the break-in remains unclear, the police are treating the case as a burglary and attempted robbery. Officers who visited the scene found evidence of forced entry through a broken window and noticed bloodstains, confirming one of the intruders was wounded.

They also recovered a red muffin, believed to belong to one of the suspects and two empty 9mm cartridges. Booker’s firearm was confiscated for ballistic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Booker expressed fears for his safety, suspecting the attack may be linked to his activism.

He revealed that hours before the incident, he had participated in an online discussion about recent abduction cases. He also mentioned receiving threatening phone calls and warnings in various WhatsApp groups since launching a campaign for accountability.

Machakos Police Commander Patrick Lobolia confirmed the investigation into the attempted robbery, reiterating that officers collected key evidence, including the spent cartridges and the red muffin.

Booker, a prominent advocate for human rights and governance, believes the attack could be retaliation for his outspoken stance on these issues.

Police are continuing to probe the incident to determine the attackers’ intentions and ensure justice is served.
