In a press briefing, CS Muturi directly accused the government of involvement in abductions, particularly targeting the youth. He revealed his family’s ordeal following the disappearance of his son in June 2023, describing the emotional distress it caused.

DCI Investigates Abduction Allegations
Following Muturi’s claims, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has invited him to provide a statement regarding his son’s alleged abduction.
In a statement dated Sunday, January 12, the DCI confirmed the case is under investigation by its Kilimani office. Leslie Muturi, who had already given his account, was reportedly abducted and later released without explanation.
“The alleged case of abduction involving CS Justin Muturi’s son is active before DCI Kilimani. Considering that only the son volunteered to record a statement, we wish to invite CS Muturi and any other person with information on the incident to record a statement with DCI Kilimani,” read the DCI’s statement.
Muturi’s Emotional Testimony
Speaking to the media, Muturi detailed the trauma his family faced. He revealed that despite being Attorney General at the time of the incident, he was unable to trace his son or obtain information about his whereabouts.
“More than six months after the ordeal, no charges have been brought against my son, and no explanation has been provided for his abduction,” Muturi lamented.
He also highlighted a worrying pattern of abductions targeting Kenyan youth, leaving families in anguish.
