Maina Njenga Publicly Declares Support for President William Ruto’s Government(Video)

In a surprising turn of events, Maina Njenga has publicly declared his support for President William Rutoโ€™s government. Speaking at the Kabiruini Declaration event, the former Mungiki leader, who was kidnapped in 2023, urged the crowd to rally behind the current administration.

Njenga outlined key points during his speech, emphasizing unity and collaboration to ensure development in the Mt. Kenya region and across Kenya.

    Support for Rutoโ€™s Leadership
Njenga pledged support for President Ruto and his deputy, vowing to assist them in delivering the promises made during the election. He urged the public to back the governmentโ€™s initiatives to foster progress.

    Space for Leaders to Work
He called for patience, asking Kenyans to give leaders the necessary space to implement projects. Njenga warned against criticizing leaders on social media for failed projects, terming such actions as counterproductive. He even suggested that funds allocated to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) should be returned if projects are not executed.

    Focus on Regional Projects
Njenga urged Mt. Kenya leaders to engage the government in completing key regional projects, such as the Mau Mau road. He encouraged leaders to work directly with the president to address stalled initiatives.

Reforms in Tea and Coffee Sectors
The former Mungiki leader also called for reforms in the tea and coffee industries, sectors that he claimed had been neglected by previous administrations. He took a swipe at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was impeached in late 2024, for failing to deliver on these critical issues.

This new alliance marks a shift in Njengaโ€™s stance, as he has previously clashed with the government. His call for unity and focus on development projects signals a potential new chapter in Kenyaโ€™s political landscape.
