Cherargei Urges Ruto to Sack Murkomen: “Hakuna Kazi Anafanya”
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has reignited his ongoing feud with the Cabinet Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Kipchumba Murkomen, urging President William Ruto to remove him from office.
The strained relationship between the two has been a recurring issue, with Cherargei frequently accusing Murkomen of corruption and ineffectiveness in every government role he has undertaken.
Their differences were particularly pronounced during Murkomen’s tenure as the head of the Roads and Transport Ministry, where the senator consistently criticized his performance. The animosity between them has now resurfaced with renewed vigor.

In a recent interview with NTV, Cherargei expressed his disapproval of Murkomenโs reinstatement to the Cabinet, following his dismissal earlier this year in July alongside other officials.
He argued that bringing Murkomen back was a misstep on President Ruto’s part, suggesting that his contributions to the Ministry of Sports have been negligible.
“I appreciate the president for having removed him before, and honestly, he shouldnโt have been brought back to the Cabinet. He was jeered and driven away in Eldoret because people feel he is not delivering any results at the Ministry of Sports,” Cherargei stated during the interview.
The senator’s remarks highlight his firm stance against Murkomen’s leadership, reigniting public discussions about the Cabinet Secretary’s effectiveness and track record in office.
This feud adds a layer of tension to the political dynamics within President Rutoโs administration, as Cherargeiโs outspoken critique underscores broader concerns about governance and accountability.
