‘Sell Out!’ Kenyans Slam Kasmuel McOure’s Silence on Morara Kebaso Bomas Attack

Singer-turned-activist Kasmuel McOure is under fire from a section of Kenyans for failing to address the Morara Kebaso attack, after being given a chance to address the Bomas crowd.

He is also being blasted for what Kenyans are terming as his perceived inclination towards the powers-that-be, appearing to be in bed with the government and out of touch with the disenfranchised Gen Z he purports to represent.

Not long after Morara was violently booted out of the Bomas of Kenya hall, where he had endured a vicious attack from an angry mob, Kasmuel took to the microphone to offer his views on the Gachagua impeachment.

Many had, however, expected that Kasmuel would, first and foremost, address the Morara attack, condemning the goons and expressing his sympathy to his fellow youthful activist.

But instead of castigating the people behind the Morara ambush, and outrightly denouncing the senseless violence meted out to him, Kasmuel went straight to the politics of the day, appearing to be speaking the same language with the members of Parliament.

Without wasting time, Kasmuel went into full Kasmuel mode, waxing lyrical on his reasons as to why Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua should leave office, not once mentioning that President William Ruto too, who he has steadfastly been fighting against, should also leave his seat.

As he spoke, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang can be seen standing behind him, proudly smiling as if witnessing the scholarly excellence of his son.

“Gachagua must go!” Kasmuel roars. “Ndio tumalize ukabila Kenya, ndio tumalize shareholders, ndio tumalize siasa ya kuchanganya watu, Gachagua must go!”

Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie, who is seated right behind the podium, is also seen clapping and nodding at Kasmuel’s propositions.

Soon after the video made rounds online, many Kenyans took to their X accounts to call out the activist, terming him a sellout for failing to articulate things that matter most to the common mwananchi.

“Kasmuel went on that stage and spoke the language of our oppressors. He spoke just like them. He sounded just like any other Kenyan MP. Is this the same dude we went to the streets with? Oh, how quickly people change!” Stephen Mutuku wrote.

Someone else said, “Instead of addressing the Morara Kebaso situation, Kasmuel went there to politics. He claims to represent Gen Z and young Kenyans and still couldn’t spare a minute for Morara. Sellout!”

On his part, Morara’s lawyer Pareno Solonka said, “Kasmuel is a sell-out and you now realize why him, kina Tarus and so many yappers here have been fighting Morara. Morara is the only young person WHO HAS NOT BEEN BOUGHT AND IS STAYING TRUE!”

Even popular content creator and chef Dennis Ombachi chimed in too, saying, “N*gga was the next guest to the balcony. I dodged a bullet but at what cost!”

Kasmuel was speaking at the Bomas of Kenya auditorium where public participation, in the Gachagua impeachment, is currently underway.
