In Nairobi’s Kilimani neighborhood, a 12-year-old girl fell from the ninth floor and was killed.
The child was playing with her siblings on Sunday afternoon, March 19, when she suddenly fell out of an open window and landed on the ground below.
Police reported that the incident took place at the Silver Harbour Apartment on Kindaruma Road and that she died there.
As the child was playing a game of hide and seek inside the house, she slipped and fell through an open window.
An ambulance was dispatched, but she was pronounced dead when medical personnel arrived.
The mortuary is holding the body for now while investigations continue.

Adamson Bungei, head of police in Nairobi, called the incident tragic and urged parents to keep an eye on their kids.
The death of a 55-year-old man who was electrocuted at a borehole in Muranga county is the subject of an ongoing police investigation.
While attempting to draw water from a 15-foot borehole, Boniface Wainaina was found dead.
The victim was a casual laborer in Kahain village, according to the police.
The deceased was allegedly holding an electric wire in his hands as he attempted to use it to pump water from the borehole before his death.
After removal, the body was taken to a morgue where it will remain until the autopsy is complete.
In recent months, there has been an uptick in the number of reported cases of electrocution. There are up to five cases reported each week, according to police.
Poor wiring on the part of customers accounted for 24%, illegal connections for 16%, proximity to power lines for 13%, and intentional acts for 11%.
Those counties most impacted are Nakuru, Nairobi Makueni, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu, Nyamira, Migori, and Kiambu.
