Gachagua Impeachment Drama: Sudi’s Cryptic Reply to Wamuchomba
The momentum for impeaching Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is increasing, despite his allies’ attempts to defend him.
During Gachagua’s tour in Githurai on Sunday, September 22, Gathoni Wamuchomba, the vocal MP for Githunguri Constituency, strongly reacted to Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s claim that Gachagua would be removed in two weeks.
Wamuchomba accused Sudi of trying to gain power after his previous efforts to negotiate with the deputy president fell apart. She stated, “Sudi, we know your game. When you visited Nyeri, the deputy president was supposed to join, but those close to the president planned to keep him uninformed about the event. You even prepared a seat for him to create a scene.
“Now you’re suggesting he has only two weeks? We see through your motives. You aim to align yourself with the president to advance your corrupt agenda. After failing to make deals with Gachagua, you want him out to pursue your illegal plans. We are your remedy, Sudi,” she declared.

Sudi’s reply to Wamuchomba’s allegations was a cryptic remark indicating that a decision had been reached and there was no going back. “The die is cast. Good riddance,” he stated.
In a separate development, Gachagua cautioned President William Ruto against entertaining impeachment plans from certain Kenya Kwanza leaders. He advised Ruto to avoid betrayal politics and uphold his commitment to prevent the humiliation of his deputy, stressing that if he failed to honor that promise, he would not be trusted with anything else.
Gachagua emphasized that the president stands to gain the most from the resentment of Mt. Kenya’s people towards betrayal.
In addition, Gachagua urged Ruto to rein in his allies amid the intensifying calls for his impeachment, denied knowing Ruto’s trip to the US for the 79th UNGA session, and faced criticism from Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for exposing the president during a live TV interview.
