Morara Kebaso Reveals Party Name, Seeks Public Feedback

On Thursday, activist and lawyer Morara Kebaso proposed a name for his upcoming political party.

In a brief announcement, Kebaso invited the public to contribute their thoughts on the partyโ€™s potential name.

Using his X account, the lawyer initiated a poll with options ‘I support’ and ‘I oppose,’ encouraging Kenyans to share their feedback.

“We suggest the name ‘Injection of National Justice, Economic, and Civic Transformation (INJECT) Party,'” Kebaso noted.

He also asked for public input on the party’s colors, suggesting green and gold as possibilities.

Kebaso explained that green symbolizes new growth, while gold represents a prosperous future, and he urged people to comment with alternative ideas.

However, Kebaso also shared that the Registrar of Political Parties rejected his party proposal, citing concerns that it was divisive based on age demographics.

This announcement followed a confrontation between Kebaso and social media influencer Mercy Tarus over the ‘Kenya ni Home’ slogan.

Both activists, who head separate civic education groups, have used the slogan recently, but on Wednesday, they disagreed over its rightful use.

Through her X account, Mercy Tarus accused Kebaso of exploiting the slogan and accused him of seeking political fame.

“We come to an agreement, but you go off and do the opposite. We may be fighting the same battle, but our motives aren’t aligned,” Tarus remarked.

“This is not about a savior; it’s a joint effort. Kenya Ni Home and that home deserves respect!” she added.
