“Fear Money”: George Ruto Splashes KSh 8.7M on Embakasi’s Matrix Matatu

President William Ruto’s son, George, has recently expanded his matatu fleet with a new acquisition following his high-profile involvement with Money Fest.

What matatus are in George Ruto’s collection?

In August, Money Fest stirred controversy for allegedly violating traffic regulations and lacking proper certification from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

The PSV was considered by some to be a top contender for Nairobi’s most coveted matatu, known as Kenya One.

Nevertheless, Money Fest faced significant competition from Matrix, which served the Embakasi route.

Brian Wanyama, also known as Graff Matwana, confirmed that George had acquired Matrix. This acquisition positions George as a leading investor in Nairobi’s matatu scene.

Graff shared with Gossipa2z.com that the deal was finalized last week.

He also revealed that George purchased the green and black-themed Matrix for KSh 8.7 million.

“Matrix has switched from the Embakasi route to Ongata Rongai,” Graff noted. This change was anticipated, as George’s driver had previously hinted at it.

Amid the Money Fest debate, the driver defended George, mentioning that George intends to make further investments in the industry.

“This vehicle is under a loan with KCB that needs to be repaid. He is supporting us as youth and plans to acquire more vehicles soon,” the driver said.

The new purchase has sparked mixed reactions, with those on the Ongata Rongai route welcoming the development.

How much does Money Fest earn?

George’s first PSV is in high demand, translating into good returns for George.

Racquel Wachira told Gossipa2z.com that passengers highly seek Money Fest; some even call the driver to book seats before arriving at the stage.

She disclosed the amount of money the matatu makes daily.
