Fact Check: The Truth Behind Morara Kebaso’s Prado Linked to DP Gachagua
In a recent surge of online accusations, some Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) have pointed fingers at prominent lawyer Morara Kebaso, accusing him of fraud.
The controversy stems from a viral image that has been widely circulated, depicting Kebaso posing next to a Toyota Prado with the registration number KCX 108G.
Allegations Surface Against Morara Kebaso
Certain sections of the Kenyan online community have alleged that the Prado, purportedly associated with Kebaso, is registered under Wamunyoro Investment Ltd, a company linked to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The accusers have gone further to claim that Kebaso’s rapid rise in financial status, from earning a basic salary of Ksh 60,000 in 2018 to owning a high-end vehicle, raises suspicion.
These allegations have fueled a wave of skepticism, with many questioning how someone with a modest salary could afford such a luxury vehicle in a short period.
Several social media users have demanded answers, pointing to what they consider inconsistencies in Kebaso’s financial trajectory.

The Fact-Checking Revelation
However, a fact-check conducted by Gossipa2z.com has debunked these claims, revealing that the viral photo in question has been digitally altered.
The original image, as confirmed by fact-checkers, shows the Prado with a different number plate, KDK 235W, not KCX 108G as seen in the edited version.
This revelation has cast doubt on the authenticity of the allegations being leveled against the lawyer.
Morara Kebaso Responds
In response to the accusations, Morara Kebaso took to X to clear the air. Addressing a post from an account known as “Kijana Ya Baba,” Kebaso firmly denied the claims, stating that the number plate shown in the viral image does not belong to him.
He also pointed out a key detail—when the KCX series of license plates was issued in Kenya, the particular Prado model in question had not yet been manufactured.
