Morara Kebaso’s Account Hits Limit After Ksh1.2M Appeal as Public Rallies Behind Anti-Government Campaign

Prominent lawyer Morara Kebaso, a vocal critic of President William Ruto, announced on Tuesday that his mobile money account reached its transaction limit after receiving a flood of contributions from supporters.

The previous day, the lawyer had called on the public to help him raise Ksh1.2 million to buy a public address system and cover other essential costs.

By Tuesday evening, Morara mentioned that his mobile account, which has a Ksh500,000 limit, was maxed out, urging contributors to pause while he arranged alternative ways to receive funds.

He also shared that he had successfully purchased a high-quality public address system to continue his nationwide engagements.

“Good evening. I deeply appreciate your contributions to our mission. The mobile money account is now full, and the transaction limit has been exceeded. Please, I request that you hold off on sending more until tomorrow,” he told his supporters.

“Kenyans have provided me with a top-notch presidential address system. You should see me in action. I will educate relentlessly, traveling with translators like a pastor on a crusade.”

Kebaso also reiterated his commitment to challenging the government, accusing the administration of using fake accounts to tarnish his reputation, including spreading rumors about his educational background.

“I am aware of the twenty youth operating from KICC (Kenyatta International Conference Center) ballroom and Mudavadi Centre. Each of them manages at least 50 X accounts. They use software like Tweetdeck to push hashtags such as Mulika Morara. I know the game, and sadly, itโ€™s being funded with our taxes. Are these the jobs you promised to create on the digital highway?” he added.

“If you think you’ve bought off the opposition and compromised parliament, giving you a license to plunder the treasury, think again.”

Known for his visits to unfinished projects that have already received funding, Morara has been touring the country, drawing criticism from the current regime.

On Monday, he highlighted the need for a Ksh840,000 PA system to enhance his tours, explaining that it would cost Ksh1.2 million to acquire and set up the equipment.

He emphasized that the PA system would be dedicated solely to civic education and good governance campaigns.
