Crystal Palace parted ways with manager Patrick Vieira

Under fire manager, Patrick Vieira has been fired by CRYSTAL PALACE.

After going winless in their previous 14 Premier League matches, the Eagles pulled the trigger.

After Tuesday’s loss to rivals Brighton, the Eagles are now in a fight for survival in the Premier League.

And the search for Vieira’s replacement has begun.

According to the oddsmakers, former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, and former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo are the favorites.

Marcelo Bielsa, Michael Carrick, and Vincent Kompany are also candidates.

The Londoners have also parted ways with coaches Osian Roberts, Kristian Wilson, and Said Aigoun, in addition to the Frenchman.

Chairman Steve Parish stated, “This difficult decision has been made with deep regret.”

“Ultimately, the results of the past few months have placed us in a precarious league position, and we deemed it necessary to make a change to have the best chance of retaining our Premier League status.

“Despite this, Patrick’s impact since joining our team in the summer of 2021 has been substantial, and he is held in the highest regard by myself and his coworkers.

“Last season, he led the team to a Wembley FA Cup semi-final and a respectable 12th-place finish while playing some exciting football. It was a difficult and crucial season for the club, given the changes we made to the squad before his arrival.

“Patrick has given his all to the club, and we all appreciate his and his team’s efforts.

In addition, we wish Patrick, Osian, Kristian, and Said the best of luck in the future.

With the Eagles, Vieira oversaw 65 Premier League matches and had a 26% winning percentage.

Fans had mixed reactions to the dismissal, with one describing it as “a real shame.”

Another questioned, “What is the point of firing him now with ten games remaining?”

One wrote, “Thank you Patrick, but it was time to leave.”

Former Palace star Clinton Morrison warned this week that results are inadequate.

He said: “The sounds coming from Selhurst Park indicate that the fans are not pleased with the results.

“The performances have been strong, but the play is not sufficient clinical.

Season after season, we ask the club if they can acquire a center forward capable of scoring 10 to 15 goals.

“They have developed… They now attempt to dominate the ball and create opportunities, a strategy Patrick implemented, but they are not clinical enough. The plot remains unchanged.”
