18% of Kenyans Satisfied with Ruto’s Broad-Based Government, Matiang’i Preferred Over Raila for Presidency- Survey

President William Ruto’s inclusive government has significantly polarized the political landscape.

A recent Politrack Africa survey indicates that this divide also affects the general populace.

The survey, reviewed by Gossipa2z.com, shows that only 18.1% of people believe the new government, which integrates ODM party members, will bring about major improvements and lead Ruto’s administration to success.

Meanwhile, 21.3% feel that the broad-based political approach is unlikely to succeed, and 17.3% remain uncertain about its effectiveness.

The survey’s methodology included assessing public opinion across 47 counties between August 10th and 15th. It aimed to gauge reactions to the reorganization of Kenya’s executive branch and its impact compared to the previous administration.

The research utilized Computer Assisted Telephonic Interviews (CATI) with a diverse sample of 11,861 registered voters, balanced at 52% female and 48% male. The survey boasted a 95% confidence level and a ±3% margin of error.

In a separate poll, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is preferred over opposition leader Raila Odinga for the presidency.

Research 8020 found that Matiang’i has gained significant support, outshining prominent figures like Raila and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Raila has faced criticism for his recent alignment with the Kenya Kwanza government, following Ruto’s appointment of ODM members to his new Cabinet.

This move has intensified protests against Ruto’s administration, especially among the youth, and caused a split within the Azimio la Umoja Coalition, leading to the departure of key figures like Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua.
