Speaker Wetangula Sued Over Ksh281,000 Debt for Unpaid German Shepherd Dogs and Services
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula faces a lawsuit over an alleged unpaid debt of Ksh281,000 after acquiring German Shepherd dogs.
Bethwell Isoka, who filed the case in the Small Claims Court, accuses Wetangula of not only contracting him to supply two German Shepherd dogs but also requesting additional training services for them.
In the court documents, Isoka further details how he was hired to supply food and various other essentials necessary for the dogs’ upkeep.
According to Isoka, the supplies included 2 packs of dog food, 4 packs of Brave Active (dog food), dog training sleeves, grooming brushes, choke chains, and leashes.
In addition, Isoka claims he also provided a dog nail cutter, 5 liters of dog shampoo, and 5 liters of kennel disinfectant.
Court records reveal the total cost of all the supplied items amounted to Ksh348,100.
Isoka stated that while an initial deposit of Ksh100,000 was paid, both parties agreed that the remaining balance would be settled at a later, unspecified date.

As of the time of filing the case, the outstanding balance of Ksh248,100 remains unpaid.
Isoka alleges that Wetangula has intentionally avoided clearing the debt, which covers the cost of the dogs and other supplied items.
“I made efforts to contact the respondent to recover the amount, but he rudely and adamantly informed me he would not pay the remaining balance,” the court documents note.
Despite repeated attempts to secure the payment, Isoka says he faced continual frustration from the Speaker, leading him to take legal action.
Testifying in court, Isoka expressed how the delayed payment has negatively affected his health. “I waited for the remaining Ksh198,100 in vain,” he told the court, appealing for its intervention.
At the time of publication, Speaker Wetangula had not yet responded to the allegations.
