Raila Odinga Slams Old People Calling Him to Ask for Jobs: “Pumbavu Sana”
ODM leader Raila Odinga has exposed old people who have been asking him to help them get jobs in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking on Tuesday, August 13, at the funeral of Mzee Chirchir Masit, the father of former IEBC commissioner Irene Masit, Raila disclosed that older people have been bothering him with requests for jobs.
He insisted that he had not entered into any coalition agreement with Ruto that could allow him to influence job employment.
Why Raila Odinga has no powers to employ people in government
While slamming those seeking his help, Raila said it’s not right for him to help his agemates, yet young people are still languishing in unemployment.
“I am not in the government. We have not signed any coalition agreement with Ruto, he only asked for some people and I gave him some to help his government. But have not agreed on anything.”

“Now old people are coming with papers asking me to place them somewhere, so should I look for a job for you or your grandchildren? ” Raila posed.
The former prime minister sympathized with Ruto, arguing that the president could be passing through many challenges.
“You have children who are learned, and they want employment, yet you find someone like me looking for work. My children should be looking for work. If this is how they are disturbing me, what about Ruto?” he added.
What Ruto said about the coalition agreement with Raila
Meanwhile, Ruto dismissed claims of forming a coalition government with ODM, clarifying that their cooperation was solely for the benefit of Kenyans.
Ruto assured Kenyans that the collaboration with ODM is not about joining forces politically but working together on national issues.
Ruto emphasized the importance of prioritizing the country’s needs over individual or party interests, praising leaders who have set aside political differences.
The president explained that his mission is to unite the country beyond tribal lines, focusing on collective efforts to drive national progress and development.
