Kenya Power Announces Scheduled Blackouts Across Nairobi and Seven Other Counties on Tuesday

Kenya Power has scheduled a temporary blackout impacting various areas across Nairobi County and seven additional counties on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

This planned power cut is due to necessary network maintenance, as stated by the company.

In Nairobi County, the blackout will affect sections of Kibiku, Ruai Sewage, Joska Feeder, Utawala, Njiru, Vicken Feeder, North Impact, and KCC Village. The outages are expected to occur from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Specific areas impacted include:

  • Kibiku Feeder: Eastern Bypass, China Road, Gesora Road, Corradin Estates, Mihango SDA, Karagita, Kenya Builders Quarry, Shamji Ramji Quarry, Maono Prayer Centre, Esrd Estate, Buruburu Farmers, and neighboring locations.
  • Ruai Sewage: Githunguri, Corner ABCD, BMI Plaza, Pedesta, Crown, Bima Court, National Oil, Embakasi Ranching, Muhuri Muchiri Secondary School, parts of Eastern Bypass, Rubis Petrol Station, Gatuoro, Sewage Plant, Kamnyonge, Kwa Ruto, and adjacent areas.
  • Joska Feeder: Ruai Shopping Center, Ruai Police, Ruai DC, Githunguri, Block 10, Makongeni, Stage 26, Twin Bird, Kipawa.
  • Utawala: Portions of Eastern Bypass, Weacon Supermarket, Triple O Hotel, Bakri Petrol Station, Fahari Hotel, Komarock Modern Hospital, St. Bakhita Hospital, Oil Libya Petrol Station, Benedicta Hospital, parts of Mihango Estate, Utawala Shopping Center, Kinka, Githunguri, Maji Ya Ngilu, Tamarind, Zebra, MC Estate, and nearby areas.

Additionally, power outages will occur in Kajiado, Kisumu, Bungoma, Nyeri, Homa Bay, and Mombasa counties on the same day.

In Kajiado County, areas such as Kitengela, Isinya, Kajiado Town, Oloosuyian, Saab Royale, Oloiyangalani, TATA Chemicals, Kajiado Law Courts, DC Prison, KMQ, Mile 46, Unique Mining, and Duka Moja will experience a power cut from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Kisumu County, regions including Sondu, Nyabondo, and Sigoti, along with Sondu Town, Nyakach Girls, Achego, Oboch, Gari, Nyamarimba Girls, Nyabondo Mission, Kabete, Sigoti, and Bodi, will have outages from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In Bungoma County, areas like Khachonge, Bwake, and Luuya Girls, including Khachonge Market, Kiboochi, Khachonge Tea Factory, and surrounding regions, will face interruptions from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

In Nyeri County, locations such as Amboni Dairy, Laini Saba, PCEA Amboni, Wendiga, and Kiguru, along with Amboni Dairy, Kiguru, Wendiga, Arkroad, Aamario, Arklodge, PCEA Amboni, Kagiri, Muragaru Dairy Farm, and neighboring areas, will experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Homa Bay County, areas including Ogandi Girls, Ndiru, and Arujo, along with Arujo, Rabuor Masawa, Kabunde, Jerry Ndong, Ogandi Girls, Wiga, Ndiru Primary, and surrounding regions, will be affected on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Mombasa County, Mshomoroni, including Emaus, Kajiweni, Star of Hope, Milango Saba, Makumba, Mwisho wa Lami, Falcon, Junda, Ngombeni, Safari Dadogo, White House, and adjacent customers, will experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
