Tragic Double Crime: Man Kills Wife, Hangs Himself; Father Slays Son Over Inheritance Demand
Police in Nandi are probing a case where a man killed his wife before taking his own life.
The police revealed that the victim, Ivyine, was violently attacked with a panga, leading to the decapitation of her head.
“Upon arriving at the scene, police found that Ivyine Cheptoo was murdered by her husband in their bedroom within their two-room home. Her head was severed with a panga, and her body was discovered lying in a pool of blood,” the police report stated.
Her body was discovered on the bedroom floor, surrounded by a pool of blood. The murder weapon, a panga stained with blood, was recovered from the scene.
The motive behind the crime remains unclear, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Chesumei working to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In another case, authorities are investigating a suicide in the Manga sub-county, Gianche village.
The deceased, Jared Onkoba Nyaberi, aged 42, was found hanging from a rope tied to a rafter inside his home.
The body has been transported to a funeral home for an autopsy.

In a separate incident, a father fatally attacked his son with a machete following a dispute over land inheritance in Tambach village, Baringo County.
The father, Livingstone Kimaiwe, and his son, Frankline Kipchoge, 36, were involved in a heated argument that escalated into violence, according to police.
“The victim was rushed to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital but succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment,” a police report obtained by Gossipa2z.com stated.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect and the murder weapon while waiting for an autopsy to guide the investigation.
Additionally, a 27-year-old man took his own life by hanging himself at his girlfriend’s rented house in Likoni, Mombasa County, using a nylon rope.
The police report indicated that the deceased argued with his girlfriend the previous night, prompting her to stay at a guest house.
A suicide note was found at the scene. The body has been moved to the Coast General Hospital morgue.
