Manhunt Begins for ‘Mathe wa Ngara’ After Six Sacks of Bhang Recovered in Juja Apartment
Detectives in Juja conducted a raid on Friday at an apartment allegedly owned by Nancy Indoveria Kigunzu, also known as ‘Mathe wa Ngara.’
Less than a year after her arrest in a previous police operation at a yard involved in drug trafficking in Ngara, Nairobi County, where over 100 kilograms of marijuana were seized, Kigunzu has once again come under police scrutiny.
Authorities suspect that Kigunzu owns the Georgina Apartment and had relocated her base of operations to Juja from Ngara, running her drug trafficking activities from two units within the same building.
During the extensive 12-hour search, law enforcement intercepted six sacks of marijuana and impounded four vehicles along with a motorbike.

The four vehicles were subsequently towed to Juja Police Station, where they are currently being held.
Two individuals, David Ochieng Okoth and Christopher Odipo, were apprehended during the raid and will remain in police custody over the weekend.
However, Kigunzu herself was not arrested, and the police are actively searching for her, as this is not her first encounter with the law.
In August 2023, she was arrested, and authorities seized a 100kg stash of bhang from her then-base in Parklands.
Additionally, police confiscated Ksh.13.4 million during that raid, which the court later ordered to be forfeited to the State.
Kigunzu was released on a Ksh.1 million cash bail in December 2023.
