Committee on Appointments rejects Stella Soi’s appointment as Gender CS
The National Assembly Committee on Appointments has rejected the appointment of Stella Soi Langat as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage.
The committee has however approved the appointment of 19 other Cabinet nominees who were vetted last week.
The committee is set to table its report in Parliament on Wednesday afternoon.

Cabinet Secretaries who have the committee’s nods include; Kithure Kindiki (interior) Deborah Barasa (Health), Alice Wahome (Lands), Julius Ogamba (Education), Soipan Tuya (Defence), Andrew Karanja (Agriculture), Aden Duale (Environment), Eric Muuga (Water), Davis Chirchir (Transport) and Margaret Ndung’u (ICT).
Others include John Mbadi (Treasury), Salim Mvurya (Trade), Rebecca Miano (Tourism), Opiyo Wandayi (Energy) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Sports), Ali Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy), Alfred Mutua (Labour), Wycliffe Oparanya (Co-ooperatives and MSMEs) and Justin Muturi (Public Service).
Parliament will now determine whether Soi is suitable for appointment, or uphold the committee’s recommendation.
