The African Union has announced that the deadline for submitting candidate names for leadership roles at the African Union Commission (AUC) is August 6, 2024.

According to a statement released on August 5, the AU emphasized that only submissions received by this date will be considered in the pre-selection process conducted by the Panel of Eminent Africans.

“The cut-off date for submitting regional nominations for the eight senior leadership roles at the African Union Commission is August 6, 2024. Only regional submissions will be reviewed by the Panel of Eminent Africans. Additionally, only Member States not under AU sanctions may put forward candidates,” the AU’s statement specified.

The African Union also advised that candidates interested in these positions should send their resumes and vision statements to their respective member states.

“Candidates interested in these roles should submit their CVs and vision statements to their member states, detailing their plans to further the African Union’s transformative agenda and tackle the continent’s current and future challenges,” the AU added.
