Raila Odinga Will Decide Kenya’s Next President – Ahmednasir Abdullahi
Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has positioned Raila Odinga as the key influencer in Kenya’s future political landscape.
In response to a local newspaper headline, Ahmednasir contended that Raila holds the most strategic political position to decide the country’s leadership beyond 2027.
Citing recent political events, the lawyer highlighted the veteran opposition leader’s status as a formidable ‘political oligarch’.
High-ranking civil servants and political figures have been frequenting Raila’s Capitol Hill offices, indicating his significant behind-the-scenes influence.
“Raila isn’t just the “new center of power.” He is the “future center of power.” He will probably decide on a date in 2026 whether or not President Ruto’s government should come down tumbling to the ground. He will also decide whether President Ruto will serve two terms or just one term. Raila, is that powerful,” said Ahmednasir.

The apparent ceasefire between Raila and Ruto adds to Raila’s history of working with governments led by those who defeated him in elections.
For example, after losing to former president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017, Raila and Kenyatta reconciled and collaborated during Kenyatta’s second term.
Currently, five of Raila’s ODM allies have been appointed to Cabinet positions in the government.
Nevertheless, Raila has consistently stated that he is not part of the government and has no plans to join it.
