Govt Cannot Operate Without Moses Kuria, He is a Brilliant Mind- Mutula Kilonzo
Makueni County Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has emphasized the indispensability of former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria to the government, stating it cannot function without him.
During a speech on Saturday, July 27, 2024, the governor commended Kuria’s intellectual prowess and noted his significant contributions to the country’s election system.
Kilonzo questioned how President William Ruto’s administration could operate without Kuria, given his expertise in steering the nation in the right direction.
Reflecting on Kuria’s predictions during the 2022 General Elections, Kilonzo mentioned how Kuria’s knowledge in electronic election management accurately forecasted the outcomes.
“I don’t know how a government can operate without Moses Kuria, the electronic management of elections law was crafted by him. When I wanted to know if Azimio would win, I consulted Kuria and realized Azimio would lose; he is a brilliant mind,” Kilonzo said.

Kuria was dismissed along with other CSs on Thursday, July 11, 2024, when President Ruto dissolved his cabinet to form a broad-based government.
“After thorough consideration and listening to the people of Kenya, I have, under the powers vested in me by Article 152(1) and 152(5)(b) of the Constitution, and Section 12 of the Office of the Attorney-General Act, decided to immediately dismiss all Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney-General, except the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs,” Ruto declared.
In the cabinet reshuffle, the president retained Aden Duale (Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry), Kithure Kindiki (Interior and National Administration), Davis Chirchir (Roads and Transport), Alice Wahome (Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development), Soipan Tuya (Defence), Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife), Alfred Nganga Mutua (Labour and Social Protection), Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen (Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports), and Justin Bedan Njoka (Public Service and Human Capital Development).
President Ruto also appointed opposition leaders to his cabinet, including Salim Mvurya (Investments, Trade, and Industry), John Mbadi Ng’ongo (National Treasury and Economic Planning), Hassan Ali Joho (Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs), Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya (Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development), and James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum).
