‘I’ll Not Leave You Behind’: Ruto Reassures Former CS Aisha Jumwa of Gov’t Slot

President William Ruto has reassured Kilifi residents that former Gender CS Aisha Jumwa will be part of his government after she missed out on the 20 nominations submitted to Cabinet.

Speaking during the launch of the Baricho-Kakuyuni water supply project in Kilifi, President Ruto reaffirmed to the residents that he would not leave Jumwa out of his administration.

He rallied the public to work together to uplift the country’s economy.

“I am not leaving Aisha Jumwa behind, we shall sort her. People of Malindi, let me ask you, who is the one who made Aisha CS? Then I know how to sort her out, Let us all unite to better the country,” President Ruto said.

While addressing the crowd, Jumwa lauded the president for nominating two CSs from the coast region, Salim Mvurya (Trade) and Ali Hassan Joho (Mining) to his cabinet.

The former CS also sneered at her critics, claiming that she had been receiving calls from people saying that she was left out of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“I want to laud him for the opportunity that he gave me and the new opportunity he will give me. I also thank him for nominating Mvurya and Joho in the cabinet,” Jumwa said.

“Kwa hivyo mimi nitakuwa serikalini. Wale wamekuwa wakinipigia simu eti nimeachwa na Rais, mimi siko soko. Niliunda serikali hii na niko ndani ya serikali na nitakuwa serikali, sitoki kwa kuwa niko na William Ruto, simu nyingi mpunguzeni.”

Jumwa held the Gender Ministry before the cabinet was dissolved on July 11, 2024, by President Ruto following the anti-government protests that pushed for his exit.
