Reverend Recounts Police Raid During Prayer Service in Nakuru Church
Reverend Patriciah Benson of the Chosen Generation Church in Nakuru shared a terrifying experience after police officers raided the church on Tuesday.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Patriciah recounted being deep in prayers when the sound of gunfire rang out just meters away from the church.
Moments after the gunshots, a group of police officers entered the church.
The Pastor explained that the church is located on the first floor of a building in central Nakuru, making it a target for the police.
Describing the incident, the Pastor said the officers ordered everyone to lie down while they searched the premises.
“They ordered us to lie on the ground. We didn’t think it was serious until they began shooting,” she recalled.

Additionally, the Pastor mentioned that officers tried to flush out members of the church’s media team who were in a separate room.
“We heard the sound of whips, and the media team informed the police it was the church’s media room. They left only after seeing the media equipment,” she explained.
Rev. Patriciah added that several people were beaten and forced out of the church.
The church condemned the incident, calling it an abuse of police power that left the congregation traumatized.
The Reverend described Tuesday’s event as police brutality, criticizing the use of live bullets and the beating of congregants.
“Why use live bullets and beat people in our church during our regular lunch hour service? Rev Patricia Benson was praying for members. As the Bishop of Chosen Generation Church, I condemn this act of excessive police force,” stated Bishop Ben.
