Vanishing Act: ‘Hired Goons’ Demand Full Payment After Their Political Masters Disappear Post-Protests(Video)
A group of dissatisfied young men are demanding payment, claiming they were hired by politicians to participate in the recent #OccupyEverywhere protests on Tuesday. In a video filmed at night, the men accuse unnamed leaders of betraying them after they allegedly provided “services” during the demonstrations.
The men recount being called early in the morning to gather at City Hall, where they were equipped with clubs and deployed throughout the city to disrupt the protests. One man, holding a club, expresses frustration directly to his employers, demanding their promised pay.
“We were called in the morning to go to City Hall. There were 50 of us, with our fellow youth. They gave us these clubs. You gave us work until others were tear-gassed…” he asserts, waving his club.
“Now we’re calling you and your phones aren’t being answered. We’ve already saved them. We’re even going to Riverside. Did you call us to go to City Hall? You’ll give us our money!”

The men continue, stating they only received a partial payment as a downpayment and insist on being paid in full, or else.
The protests on Tuesday devolved into looting, vandalism, and hooliganism, prompting many leaders and demonstrators to withdraw due to infiltration by lawless elements. Unlike previous weeks of peaceful, organized protests, recent events saw shadowy figures causing chaos by throwing stones, setting fires, attacking police, and robbing bystanders.
In response to the violence, the DCI announced, “Security forces identified suspects engaged in criminal activities under the guise of protesting and apprehended them.”
“The DCI has deployed investigators to pursue suspects identified from CCTV and mobile recordings committing acts of robbery, theft, and property destruction against innocent citizens,” the statement continued.
According to the Daily Nation, state intelligence and security agencies are monitoring six politicians, a businessman, and two NGOs suspected of inciting the ongoing anti-government protests.
