Recce Squad Flush Out Alleged Sniper Shooting From Nairobi Building(Video)

The paramilitary unit of the General Service Unit, Recce Squad, was called in on Tuesday, July 2, as backup to a Nairobi building.

Reportedly, the special unit of the GSU was summoned to apprehend a sniper suspected of shooting from a high vantage point.

Allegedly, the sniper had gunned down a police officer.

Media reports from the scene on Moi Avenue indicated that the squad marched into the building and barricaded all exits.

The sniper, confined to the second floor of the building, did not manage to escape following the Recce Squad’s barricading of the premises.

The Recce Squad was reported to be in and out of the building, conducting their swift operation in twenty minutes.

Media sources at the scene also suggested that the sniper could have been a police officer. However, the police have yet to issue an update or confirmation of the bizarre incident.

The incident is one of the notable occurrences during the protests on Tuesday.

In an interesting twist, Tuesdayโ€™s protests were marred by looting across several areas of the country.

In Nairobi, several business owners were seen along the streets protecting their businesses from vandalism.

Meanwhile, in Mombasa, vandals torched vehicles parked along the streets as they engaged the police in running battles.

Excl: police officers noticed gun shots coming from the top of KCB Bank building along Moi avenue. Allegedly shooting an officer. Recce backed by select special OP officers arrived and stormed in. No gunshots heard but in 20mins they were out.
