Elizabeth Banks’ Double On-Stage Trip: Oscars Blunder
ELIZABETH Banks stunned Academy Awards viewers by stumbling and speaking with a raspy voice as she presented an award on stage.
This year, the actress was not nominated for an Oscar, but she did present with a shocking guest: the bear from Cocaine Bear.
Elizabeth, age 49, was selected to present the award for best visual effects alongside a bear-suited individual.

Her voice was hoarse, for which she apologized repeatedly, and she appeared to be in poor health.

The Call Jane actress appeared disinterested but maintained her composure despite multiple near-falls to the ground.
Before announcing Avatar: The Way of Water as the winner, she listed the nominees.
Fans flocked to Twitter to express their sympathy for her stage performance.

There were numerous memorable moments during the Oscars, not just Elizabeth’s near-fall.
The host, Jimmy Kimmel, began the program with a bang.
He delivered a lengthy monologue lampooning pop culture moments and celebrities in attendance or not.
Eventually, he addressed the elephant in the room: Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2023 Academy Awards.
The late-night host made a joke: “We recognize that this evening is special for you. We want you to have fun, we want you to feel safe, and most importantly, we want me to feel safe, so we’ve implemented stringent rules.
“If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence during this performance, you will receive the Oscar for best actor and be allowed to deliver a 19-minute speech.”
He went on: “The Academy, however, has a crisis team in place. If something unexpected or violent occurs during the ceremony, simply repeat what you did last year: do nothing.
“Do nothing whatsoever while seated. Perhaps hug the attacker, and if anyone gets angry at a joke and decides to come up here and get jiggy with me, it won’t be easy. There are a few of my friends you’ll have to overcome first.”
Jimmy then identified a few celebrities in the crowd who he claimed would protect him, including Michael B. Jordan and Michelle Yeoh from Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.
After last year’s shocking incident, Will, 54, was barred from presenting and did not attend the event.
He struck host Chris, 58 after he made a joke on stage about his alopecia-stricken wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
