President William Ruto Invited to Switzerland Summit on Ukraine Peace Talks
On Friday, the Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) Musalia Mudavadi revealed that President William Ruto was invited to a summit in Switzerland among other Heads of Government.
PCS Musalia stated that the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, scheduled for June 15 and 16, aims to find solutions to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Mudavadi made this announcement after a meeting with members of the European Union Delegation in Nairobi, led by Ambassador Henriette Geiger.
“The Summit aims to facilitate high-level discussions on global issues such as nuclear security, food security, freedom of navigation, and humanitarian concerns,” the Prime Cabinet Secretary informed Kenyans.
The attending Heads of State and Government will also work towards a unified political understanding to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine, in alignment with the UN Charter.
PCS Musalia also noted that the summit would begin a process for peace by discussing a roadmap to involve both parties in this effort at the highest political level.

Mudavadi confirmed that President Ruto, along with other Heads of State and Government, was invited to participate in the Summit.
Mudavadi, also serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, stressed the summit’s significance and assured the EU delegation that the invitation would be seriously considered.
He further assured that Kenya is committed to a peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
To this end, Ruto’s administration continues to advocate for a peaceful resolution through diplomatic dialogue.
President Ruto has repeatedly emphasized that Kenya’s foreign policy prioritizes peaceful dialogue between conflicting parties.
Beyond Ukraine and Russia, President Ruto has also urged for peaceful resolutions in ongoing conflicts in Sudan and South Sudan.
