Dennis Itumbi Fires Back, Counters UDA MP’s Warning in Gachagua Saga
Kenya Kwanza social media activist Dennis Itumbi has issued a response to Embakasi North MP James Gakuya following the latter’s cautionary remarks regarding an alleged scheme to thwart Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Gakuya recently cautioned Itumbi, suggesting that his advocacy for generational change was disrupting the unity of the Mt Kenya region.
However, in an extensive Facebook post dated Monday, May 27, Itumbi addressed the lawmaker, explaining that their advocacy for generational change was intended to incorporate mentorship while acknowledging that the younger generation cannot remain perpetual learners.
“Dear honorable Gakuya, our advocacy for generational change isn’t about dismissing the past but rather about learning from mentorship. We cannot remain mentored indefinitely, just as one cannot remain in school forever,” Itumbi expressed.

“Generational Change is just a voice of the majority saying, we appreciate those before us for their guidance and achievements, but we have come of age and we are ready to take our positions in business, careers, and politics,” Itumbi stated.
Gakuya had urged Itumbi to exercise caution with his associates, asserting the region’s support for the Deputy President.
“We stand with the deputy president, and we will not entertain any external attempts to undermine him. Certain individuals are manipulating our youth. I urge one of our own, Dennis Itumbi, to be cautious with his associates. Claiming to shape presidents, does he believe he can dictate our future leaders? They ought to seek guidance and avoid being manipulated by external forces,” Gakuya remarked.
The Deputy President’s endeavors to garner support from the Mt Kenya region have faced resistance, with elected officials opting for various allegiances.
In another development on Saturday, May 25, Gachagua alleged that a faction of leaders aligned with President Ruto was attempting to deceive him.
The Deputy President voiced concerns that certain leaders from the Rift Valley were meddling in the affairs of the Mt Kenya leadership.
