Gachagua- My relationship with Ruto is still strong

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed the strength of his alliance with President William Ruto, highlighting their effective partnership.

Gachagua stressed the government’s resilience and its notable progress in delivering on commitments to the Kenyan people.

Addressing attendees at a Church Service in Kesses on Sunday, Gachagua expressed that the President has entrusted him with numerous responsibilities to manage.

“Tupendane tuungane tuishi kwa amani, sisi sote ni wa Kenya na tukifanya namna hio tutaishi vizuri. Hio ndio Rais ametuongoza. Mimi na Rais tunafanya kazi nzuri, tunapendana tunapanga kazi yetu. Amenipatia kazi mingi hata ingine inanishinda, ameniwezesha kuendelea na kazi yangu kwa hivyo serikali yetu iko imara tunaendelea na kazi,” Gachagua said.

(Let us love each other, unite, and live in peace, we are all Kenyans and if we are like that, we shall live happily. That is what our President has taught us. President Ruto and I are doing a great job, we love each other and we are planning our work accordingly. He has given me a lot of work to deliver and some even become overwhelming, but he has enabled me to work effectively. The government is solid and we are progressing well.)

Rumors were circulating about a strained relationship between Gachagua and Ruto. Additionally, Gachagua was part of the group of leaders who bid farewell to Ruto as he embarked on his tour of the United States.

The spokesperson for State House, Hussein Mohammed, refuted these rumors, asserting that there were no conflicts between the two leaders.

Hussein Mohammed addressed these concerns during a press conference regarding Ruto’s visit to the US, clarifying any misunderstandings.

“To the best of my knowledge, there is no issue between the President and his Deputy,” Hussein said.

“The Deputy President’s office is an office with all capabilities and competencies. If you want to ask any question or find out anything about the Deputy President, you can get it there.”

On May 21, Gachagua revealed that he had taken seven days at the heart of Mt Kenya forest for prayers, fasting, and meditation.

“I had taken seven days away for prayers, fasting, meditation, and no phones and nobody could disturb me. I had to meditate for the state of the nation and welfare of this region,” Gachagua said.
