President William Ruto’s Return from US State Visit
President William Ruto returned on Saturday, May 25, evening following a 4-day official trip to the United States of America (USA).
Upon landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Ruto was welcomed by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
Arriving in his privately chartered Boeing 737-700, the same aircraft he utilized during his journey to the USA, stirred controversy over its considerable hourly cost, estimated at Ksh2.4 million borne by taxpayers.
Accompanied by his delegation, which included Defence CS Aden Duale and Kikuyu MP Kimaniย Ichungโwah, Ruto expressed his pleasure atย being backย home on his social media platform.

Engaging in light-hearted exchanges withย a group ofย cabinet officials and politicians at the airport,ย Ruto’sย return marked the end of his State Visit to the US, which commenced on May 20 with his arrival in Atlanta, Georgia.

During his stay, Ruto participated in a series of meetings and was honored with a lavish State Dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden, attended by distinguished figures, among them former US President Barack Obama.
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura highlighted the benefits of Ruto’s visit, citing grants, equipment, and projects valued at over Ksh600 billion, in a statement issued on Thursday, May 24.
Ruto’sย trip to the USA marked a significant event, being the first by an African President since 2008 when then Ghanaian President John Kufuor was hosted by President George W. Bush.
