Gachagua Meets Ruto Ally Sudi Amid Rift Rumors
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua finds himself in the political stronghold of President William Ruto.
This visit coincides with internal unrest within the ruling Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Rather than dispelling the speculations, the second-in-command seems to be adding fuel to the rumors.
For the first time, Gachagua has publicly reached out to his former ally turned adversary, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, proposing a reunion for the Mount Kenya region.
His allies from the same region have also alleged mistreatment of the Deputy President by the President and his team.
Why did Rigathi meet with Sudi?
Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the ruling party, photographs have surfaced showing the Deputy President alongside Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.
These images may alleviate concerns within certain factions of the ruling party due to Sudi’s close relationship with the President.
Sudi has become one of Ruto’s trusted confidants since assuming office, with their bond extending beyond mere politics.

Gachagua’s close associate accuses State House officials of harassing the DP
Elsewhere, Gilbert Kiptalam, known as GK Malema, a close associate of Gachagua, accused certain State House officials of orchestrating the challenges facing the Deputy President.
Malema emphasized that Ruto needs to address the disrespectful and bullying conduct of his staff and political allies towards Gachagua.
He alleged that State House officials have been sowing discord between the President and his Deputy through various social media platforms.
Malema further claimed that Itumbi had instructed all State House bloggers to refrain from mentioning Gachagua since the 2022 elections, despite the Deputy President’s bloggers actively promoting content favorable to the President.
