Pastor Discovered Dead in Locked Home Days After Disappearance
Religious leaders in Meru County are urging police officers to investigate the mysterious death of Pastor Moses Kirimi, which occurred this week.
In a press briefing, the leaders denounced the incident, expressing their shock sinceย the door to his house was lockedย on the day in question.
Pastor Moses Kirimi, who had gone missing on May 9, was discovered dead in his home in the Gikumene flyover area on Sunday, May 12.
The leaders stated that they had searched for him in his house, finding it locked, and he was not present in any of his usual locations.
After several days of searching, a Sunday school teacher visited his house and was repelled by a foul odor emanating from the house, along with houseflies around the door. As the door was locked, she sought assistance from the police.
“She sensed something was amiss and went to the nearest police post. Police officers arrived, broke down the door, and we found our friend in a terrible state,” one of the leaders told the press.

The police transported his body to the local mortuary for a postmortem as investigations into the death began.
The leaders disclosed that his tablet, phone, and laptop were missing, suspecting that the culprits might have robbed and killed him before locking him inside his house.
No arrests have been made yet, and some of his congregants are urging the police to expedite the investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
“We appeal to the police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to look into this matter as we want to know what happened and why,” another leader stated.
The deceased has been remembered as a pillar of the community who had a significant impact on everyone he met. His congregants have sent condolences to his family.
