CS Moses Kuria Asserts Political Influence and Demands Respect in Mt Kenya Region
Public Service Moses Kuria issued a stern warning to politicians hailing from the Mt Kenya region during the burial ceremony of Mzee John Gitau Mbugua in Gatundu South. Kuria expressed dismay at being sidelined from crucial meetings despite his significant political influence and high-ranking position in the cabinet.
Addressing the crowd, Kuria questioned the lack of recognition he felt he deserved from fellow politicians, emphasizing his belief that his role in the cabinet should warrant consultation on all political matters within Kiambu County.
Directing his remarks towards his critics, Kuria invoked a familiar analogy used by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, cautioning against underestimating his authority by likening himself to a lion, not a mere cat.
Highlighting his unique position as the sole minister representing Kiambu County, Kuria voiced his dissatisfaction with being excluded from meetings, stressing the importance of respect and warning against further disregard for his seniority.

Kuria further criticized government officials for making empty promises instead of taking tangible actions to fulfill their campaign pledges. He specifically mentioned the One Man One Shilling One Vote Policy, recently championed by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as a pivotal issue requiring action rather than rhetoric.
Asserting that the Mount Kenya region has not been overlooked in terms of government appointments, Kuria cited various key positions held by individuals from the region, including the Deputy President, nine cabinet members, and several prominent parliamentary roles.
Shifting the focus away from politics, Kuria paid tribute to the late Mzee Mbugua, praising his unwavering pursuit of political aspirations, notably his bid for the Kiambu Gubernatorial position in 2017. Additionally, Kuria pledged financial support of Ksh200,000 to the church for organizing activities in honor of the deceased.
