Eldoret Woman Appeals for Justice After Alleged Assault by KDF Boyfriend
A middle-aged woman living in Eldoret is urging law enforcement to arrest her boyfriend, who works for the Kenya Defence Forces, after she claimed he brutally assaulted her following a night out.
Reports suggest that the woman was invited by the KDF soldier to visit him in Murang’a at the start of the year for some time together.
However, what was supposed to be a night out turned into a horrific ordeal, according to the woman, who alleged she was kidnapped and subjected to severe abuse.
She explained that the meeting was arranged in Murang’a town, after which they went to Maragua Forest.
After the brutal assault, the suspect allegedly transferred money from the woman’s phone to his own before abandoning her in the forest.
“I went through a terrible experience that night. He left me in the forest, and I had to crawl to a nearby property where an elderly man helped me report the incident to the police,” she recounted.

After the incident, she reported it to Eldoret Central Police Station but accused the officers of not taking the matter seriously.
She claimed that four months later, the KDF soldier remains free while she lives in constant fear of retaliation.
“I have all the evidence proving I know this man and that we have been friends from the same area,” she said, alleging that she has recently received threats from the military officer.
“I am puzzled as to why the police find it so difficult to assist me, especially since I have provided all the necessary information to help them arrest the suspect. My life is at risk.”
Speaking to the press, Uasin Gishu Police boss Benjamin Mwanthi acknowledged that cases involving the military are complex, as the file is sent to the KDF for internal procedures upon completing investigations.
He assured, however, that police officers are actively investigating to apprehend the culprit.
