Atwoli: Ruto Will Hand Over My File to The Next President
Francis Atwoli, the Secretary-General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu), asserts that his influence will be pivotal in determining the successor to President William Ruto.
Atwoli, a prominent figure in Kenya’s labor movement, claims that no previous head of state has underestimated his sway, citing his lengthy tenure as general secretary.
The 74-year-old Atwoli, renowned as a vocal advocate for labor rights, assumed his role in 2001, citing his collaboration with Kenya’s first president, the late Jomo Kenyatta.
Reflecting on his extensive career, Atwoli highlights his collaboration with the administrations of former Presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki, both of whom acknowledged his contributions to the nation’s development.
Atwoli explains how his dossier was passed down from one president to another, including President Ruto’s predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a recorded statement, Atwoli asserts his extensive experience working with every Kenyan president and suggests that President Ruto’s successor will also inherit his dossier.
