Political Feud Escalates: Mudavadi Slams Natembeya’s Criticism, Calls for Unity
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has strongly criticized Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya for his ongoing criticism of both Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
During the burial of Mama Femina Khayisio in Kakamega on Saturday, Mudavadi urged Natembeya to focus on serving the residents of Trans Nzoia County rather than engaging in continuous attacks against him and Wetangula.
Mudavadi emphasized that Natembeya’s attention should be directed towards addressing the needs of the people in the villages, rather than indulging in insults against him and discussions about Wetangula. He highlighted the importance of leaders displaying magnanimity and unity at the highest levels to move the nation forward.
He stated that Natembeya need not insult him, as he has no aspirations of becoming Governor.
“I fulfilled my duties as an MP and completed my term. Regarding my current role as a public official, that’s a discussion for another time. However, please, do not fixate on me or Musalia. Focus instead on communicating your plans to benefit the people in your constituency,” he elaborated.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs advised the governor to prioritize improving the lives of his constituents rather than concentrating on him and Wetangula.
In response, Wetangula declared his intention not to waste time engaging with Natembeya, opting for silence instead.
Wetangula emphasized the absence of confrontational discourse and the myriad activities they engage in, trivializing the need to tally them, especially at somber occasions like funerals.
Natembeya has stirred significant controversy in the political arena of western Kenya by criticizing Mudavadi and Wetangula, citing their purported inadequate leadership.
Natembeya advocates for people to forge their political journey toward freedom and stability, urging them to disengage from the influence of the two leaders.
This stance has led to tensions between Natembeya and the loyal followers of Mudavadi and Wetangula.
