Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u announced the allocation of Ksh10 billion to address climate change impacts in various counties.

A Gazette Notice released on Friday revealed the distribution of funds across 47 counties for the fiscal year 2023/24.

Both Mombasa and Nairobi were excluded from the funding list, receiving no funds.

The Ksh10 billion fund was sourced from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank, the German Government, and county contributions (County Climate).

The table shows the counties and their allocations for the World Bank’s Climate Changeย Funding

Kisii was awarded the largest sum of Ksh420 million, followed by Migori with Ksh409 million and Kakamega with Ksh401 million.

Kiambu, Lamu, and Kirinyaga counties received the smallest allocations of Ksh99 million, Ksh82 million, and Ksh82 million, respectively.
