Nigerian Man Deported After Assault on Kenyan Woman in Wheelchair Caught on CCTV

A Nigerian man filmed attacking a Kenyan woman who uses a wheelchair has been sent back to Nigeria.

The man, identified as Nwankwo Noko, was deported on Saturday, May 4, after physically attacking his partner, Ms. Pauline.

Security cameras caught Noko attacking the Kenyan woman in a house setting while she was in a wheelchair.

In the footage, Noko is shown hitting Pauline in the head before two bystanders intervene to stop the violence.

The video quickly spread online on April 29, prompting Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba to take action on the case. She met with the victim on May 1 and reported the incident to the Karen Police Station.

“Pauline has faced a decade of abuse and is deeply traumatized,” said Orwoba, expressing the challenges of the situation.

“I’ve confirmed the man who attacked Pauline is a foreigner on a work permit. Pauline has children with him,” she added.

Pauline also stated that she and her two domestic workers had been threatened by Noko to prevent them from testifying against him.

Deliberate delays in the case’s progress were reported after it was taken up by Karen Police Station officers.

“The senator’s office addressed the case with Karen Police Station authorities, discovering attempts to delay the case’s progress,” the statement said.

“The senator spoke with the officer in charge at Karen Police Station and the investigating officer. The issue has been resolved, and the case is now in court.”

The senator condemned the assault on Pauline and emphasized that no excuse exists for targeting a vulnerable woman.

She promised to protect Pauline and her children from further harm or threats from Noko.

The Ministry of Gender, under CS Aisha Jumwa, collaborated with the Ministry of Interior, led by Kithure Kindiki.

On Saturday, May 4, Jumwa’s ministry announced the arrest of Noko, who was investigated and prepared for deportation.

“Action has been taken, and we appreciate the quick response and efforts of the Ministry of Interior and Principal Secretary Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok. Nwankwo Noko has been arrested and processed for deportation,” read a statement from the Gender Ministry, signed by Senator Orwoba and PS Anne Wang’ombe.

Many Kenyans praised the nominated senator and other organizations involved in the deportation of the violent Nigerian man, including Kenya Kwanza Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi.

“Nigerian man who assaulted a Kenyan woman – Pauline – on a wheelchair arrested and being processed for deportation. Well done, Senator @gloria_orwoba and PS Ann Wang’ombe,” he wrote.
