Victoria Rubadiri Departs Citizen TV for CNN Role
Victoria Rubadiri, a well-known news anchor at Citizen TV, will be departing Royal Media Services (RMS) after a tenure of six years with the station.
Anonymous sources speaking to Gossipa2z.com confirmed that she is currently in the process of serving her notice period and will host her final show this weekend.
After departing from Citizen TV, a source disclosed that the news anchor is expected to become CNN’s Africa correspondent.
In recognition of her time at the station, the RMS staff celebrated with a cake this past week.
Rubadiri presented multiple programs, including Citizen Weekend on Saturdays, where she highlighted various topics with a focus on social norms and culture.
On Sundays, she co-hosted Sunday Live with the renowned journalist Jeff Koinange.
Since the start of the year, senior journalists have departed from the RMS, notably including Citizen TV, where former crime and investigative journalist Hassan Mugambi and TV reporter Chemutai Goin have left.

Rubadiri has gained a reputation for her talent in telling engaging stories, making her one of the most in-demand journalists in her field.
In 2020, she was honored with the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award, which allowed her to participate in a training program at the BBC Academy and work with the News team for three months.
One of her significant works was ‘Wombs of Sorrow,’ which focused on the experiences of women dealing with cervical cancer.
Before joining Citizen TV, she advanced her career at Nation Media Group (NMG), where she co-hosted the NTV Weekend Edition with CNN’s Larry Madowo.
In 2009, the journalist earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia.
In addition to her work in the media, she has facilitated significant regional and continental discussions in the past. Her notable engagements include moderating the East African Business Council Summit in Arusha, which featured six presidents, and leading the launch of the Africa CDC’s continental event-based surveillance (EBS) framework in 2023.
