UDA Delays Nyanza Elections After General Ogolla’s Passing
Members and officials of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Nyanza have put their ongoing campaigns on hold following the unfortunate death of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla.
Kennedy Obuya, the acting UDA chairman in Homa Bay, stated that this choice was a mark of respect for Ogolla and to give the community space to grieve.
Obuya also mentioned that they are contacting the UDA’s national office, including the National Elections Board, to talk about delaying the party’s elections planned for this month.
Kennedy Ondiek, the UDA coordinator for South Nyanza, recognized the somber mood created by the death of Ogolla and other servicemen.
He called for calm as the government investigated the circumstances of the CDF’s death.
