Peter Kenneth Resurfaces After 2-Year Absence; Calls for Resignation of Govt Officials
Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth reappeared on Saturday, April 13, following a two-year hiatus from politics.
The ex-member of parliament, speaking at a burial ceremony in Gatanga Constituency, urged government officials implicated in the distribution of counterfeit fertilizer to step down from their positions.
He additionally cautioned the central government about its handling of the doctors’ strike and the problem of excessive taxation.
Peter Kenneth, who unsuccessfully campaigned for the Azimio coalition in the recent general election, commented on the hardships faced by people in the Mt Kenya region.
“We all grew up in this area where Coffee factories were being given genuine fertilizers. If a farmer is being given fake fertilizer and is being taxed when the fertilizer cannot be used for production, it is a disgrace,” he regretted

“People who are concerned with this fake fertilizer should make a normal call and quit. It is an embarrassment.”
The politician pointed out that President William Ruto’s government was misleading small-scale farmers with low-quality fertilizer.
Peter Kenneth argued that it was unjust for the residents of Mt Kenya to suffer due to unfavorable government policies.
“This government was elected overwhelmingly in this area and the bulk of supporters are suffering and it is no longer politics,” he stated.
Peter Kenneth commented that the matter of striking medical professionals revolves around humanity, emphasizing the necessity of providing essential services to the public.
He commented on the unfortunate situation where Kenyans were losing their lives because they couldn’t access public healthcare facilities and couldn’t afford private ones.
The politician aligned with Azimio urged the government to prioritize achieving full compliance rather than focusing on broadening the tax foundation.
