Moses Kuria Adopts Grandchildren of Mama Mboga in President Ruto’s 2022 Campaigns

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has pledged to adopt the grandchildren of Mama Mboga who played a prominent role in campaigning for President William Ruto in 2022, following the death of their father who was laid to rest today.

The lady, Pauline Waithira Njoroge, lost her son, Alex Mbugua after a period of hospitalization at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Speaking at the funeral on Wednesday held in Githunguri Kiambu, CS Kuria stated that he would assume the responsibility of educating the three children and catering to their needs.

“Mrs. Pauline Njoroge, popularly known as ‘Mama Mboga’, was an instrumental face in our campaign in 2022 election campaigns. Today, I joined her, her family, relatives, and friends in Githunguri, Kiambu County, as she laid to rest her only son, Alex Mbugua Waithira, who rested at the age of 51.”

“I have committed to educate and empower the three sons he has left behind,” added CS Kuria.

Pauline Waithera accompanied by President William Ruto after the presidential debate on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

He also explained that he has set his sights on having the 3 join college and acquire technical skills that will help them secure opportunities in the job market.

According to Moses Kuria, it would be a short-lived win for the family if he gave jobs to the three without educating them first.

He also explained that this would empower the three even when he and other leaders left power.

This development represented a huge relief to Waithira’s family which has endured hardships, most recently being the detention of her son’s body at KNH over an unpaid hospital bill.

Pauline had come out to appeal to the public to help her raise the Ksh400,000 required for the body to be released.

She had lamented that the amount was too steep for her family to raise and was appealing to well-wishers and those in power referencing her role in helping President William Ruto get elected.

However, this was not the first time that Pauline had lamented about being abandoned by Kenya Kwanza.

In a previous interview with journalists, Pauline claimed that Kenya Kwanza leaders failed to pick up her calls as soon as the ruling party clinched power, leaving her to languish in poverty.
