    ‘I’m sorry’: Aspiring Politician Pens Emotional Message to Parents in Suicide Note

    ‘I’m sorry’: Aspiring Politician Pens Emotional Message to Parents in Suicide Note

    Kipnyaanko Kiplangat Langat, a Junior Secondary School teacher from Bomet has expressed his deep love and gratitude to his family just before his untimely demise.

    The 33-year-old man allegedly took his own life outside a rental room where his lover stays.

    According to area assistant chief John Tanui, the body was found dangling on the verandah roof.

    A political poster shared on his Facebook pages shows that that Kiplangat ventured into politics in 2017 as an MCA in Kapsasian ward, Narok County.

    He was vying under the Chama Cha Mashinani banner.

    He was a teacher in one of the schools in Trans Mara, Narok County.

    In a heartfelt Facebook post, Kiplangat poured out his feelings, acknowledging the sacrifices his family made for his education.

    “You raised and educated me, selling the little you had, ranging from chicken, goats, cows, and even land. It is a pity that I am going without giving back to you. Sorry, I know you will weep and bleed in your hearts,” he expressed.

    He conveyed his heartfelt sentiments to his family, students, colleagues, and even his local representative before his untimely departure.

    Expressing his love and gratitude to his students, Kiplangat acknowledged their affection and his fondness for them.

    “I am sorry, my students. In this moment of heightened emotions, it is clear in my mind that you loved me, and I too loved you. I will miss your company, your laughter, your smiles, and our discussions. Forgive me,” he conveyed with sincerity.

    Turning to his colleagues, he recognised the impending loss they would face.

    “I am sorry, my colleagues. I know you are set to lose me, one of you,” he expressed with regret.

    To his Member of Parliament, Hon Ngong Ngeno the MP Emurua Dikir, Kiplangat expressed thanks for the support received.

    “I am sorry, my MP and good friend, Hon Ngong. I thank you for having graced my graduation homecoming ceremony in 2015. It is unfortunate that you are likely setting foot in our compound a second time when I am the silent one in a big crowd. Our family is your supporter. A breadwinner has gone, Mheshimiwa,” he acknowledged, aware of the impact of his actions.

    In a particularly emotional passage, Kiplangat addressed his alleged lover, acknowledging their shared moments and offering forgiveness for any pain caused.

    “I am sorry if I hurt you so much that you had to treat me in such a manner of condemnation and ruthlessness. You heavily hurt and broke my heart. I forgive you, though, I am sure you will also forgive me,” he wrote.

    Police officers attached to Silibwet police station visited the scene and moved the body to Longisa Hospital mortuary.
