Fiery UDA MP Lambasts Ruto in Explosive Rally Showdown
Florence Jematiah, the Woman Representative of Baringo, has criticized the government for its failure to address the problem of banditry in the area.
Addressing a public gathering on Tuesday, March 26, Jematiah conveyed concern as a local leader about the frequent assaults by bandits in the area.
The Member of Parliament (MP) expressed that placing their votes in favor of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government was seen as the primary solution to finally putting an end to the long-standing threat of banditry that has plagued the region for many years.
“We voted for UDA because we thought this problem would end. Even when the president came to Kabartojo, he saw the situation. He was also threatened,” she stated.
Jematatiah also remembered the president’s commitments to address the insecurity issue, describing them as deceitful pledges.
“When he got into the government we had more hope, instead, he brought in Azimio people from Tiaty,” she lamented.

The lawmaker also discussed the challenges faced by fellow leaders in fulfilling their responsibilities to the public, emphasizing that the president’s inability to assist his followers was highly disheartening.
On the same occasion, the local chief expressed his intention to step down from his role, citing concerns for his safety. He also highlighted instances where fellow chiefs had been subjected to home invasions and assaults.
“It’s such a shame for a chief to beg, yet they work for the government. The bandits are threatening the chiefs,” the chief explained.
On March 16, a group of bandits assaulted the female representative, targeting the convoy transporting her and Joseph Makilap, the Member of Parliament for Baringo North, with gunfire.
The pair of leaders, accompanied by Red Cross personnel, were handing out relief provisions along the Yatya-Chemoe route in the Chepkesin region of Baringo County.
Fortunately, there were no injuries sustained during the incident as the drivers managed to drive away in time, eluding the bandits.
