DJ Joe Mfalme Case: Police Reveal Identity of Another Man Still at Large

On Monday, March 25, police officials disclosed the identity of an additional suspect linked to the killing of Felix Kelian Kintosi, the Deputy Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer in Dagoretti.

In the hearing application before Kibera Magistrate Margaret Murage, Fredrick Kosen, the main prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), affirmed that one individual from DJ Joe Mfalme’s team managed to flee during the arrest and is currently evading capture.

He emphasized that the police need time to obtain CCTV footage from the location and confirm the chronological order of occurrences.

Furthermore, he noted that the prosecutor would require extra time to collect testimonies from relevant witnesses to build a strong case.

He pointed out that a psychological evaluation would be necessary before advancing with the investigations.

“I also intend to take the accused to Mama Lucy Hospital for mental assessment and forward the investigation file to the DPP for determination of appropriate charge to be preferred against them,” Kosen noted.

Mfalme, along with three other staff members purportedly implicated in the dispute, stood before the court. Furthermore, three officers from Kikuyu Police Station were also brought before the court.

In the court session, the DJ stated that he wasn’t likely to flee, pointing out his existing commitments to perform over the Easter weekend as evidence.

He indicated his readiness to collaborate with investigators and petitioned the court for bail.

Following a thorough examination of the evidence, Magistrate Murage directed that the suspects be detained in custody for 14 days, allowing the police to finalize their investigations.

Reports suggest that the individual who passed away was engaged in a confrontation with DJ Mfalme and his associates following an incident where he collided with their vehicle.

It’s reported that the suspects assaulted the officer and escorted him to Kikuyu Police Station using force. After the altercation, the officer experienced discomfort in his abdomen and noticed blood in his urine.

He was admitted to a hospital in Nairobi and died five days afterward.
