Edwin Sifuna Meets Rigathi Gachagua for First Time, Rules Out Their Friendship: “We’re Not Friends”
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua found themselves sharing a platform for the first time on March 21st, as they both attended the funeral of Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru’s father in Mukurweini, Nyeri County.
During his opportunity to address the mourners, Sifuna reiterated his unwavering commitment to holding the government accountable for any wrongdoing. “Mr Deputy President, I will not want to lie that I am your friend. We are not friends and today is the first time we are meeting. I want to tell you that there is no blood between you and me. We only differ on issues and that is coming to an end,” said Sifuna.
Despite their contrasting positions, Sifuna extended an olive branch, indicating his willingness to foster a constructive dialogue moving forward. He emphasized the importance of civil discourse and mutual respect in addressing their disparities, hinting at a potential resolution to their ideological differences.
